Antikythera Mechanism

The Antikythera Mechanism is a very interesting device that was found on sunken ship near the island of Antikythera. No one is quite sure when the Antikythera Mechanism was made, nor can they be shure who's ship it was that sunk.

Found in 1900 by a diver who told his captain he had found a "mound of corpses and horses", the Antikythera Mechanism has puzzled scientists ever since. The mechanism is very similar to a mechanical clock and was made from more than thirty extremely well crafted gears.

Scientists have determined that the mechanism was built to calculate astronomical positions and that it was built around 100BC. Scientists have also found instructions on how to use the mechanism written in Greek on the mechanism itself.

The tv show Ancient Aliens have raised the possibility that the mechanism may have been built by aliens and delivered to humans a long time ago, after all, the intricate gearing mechanisms in the device were far ahead of their time. In fact, the world would not see such a device again for almost 1500 years when watches and other similar devices using gears became popular and widely used.

The main problem I have with the device being of an alien origin is that that Antikytheria Device calculated the position of the sun, moon, and the planets using the Greek geocentric model - the Greeks believed that the Earth was at the center of the universe. I doubt that any visitors from another planet would think Earth is the center of the universe, nor do I believe that an alien would not correct us about the location of Earth and instead build us a very advanced calculator designed to let us keep believing a lie.

So who built it?

In my opinion I have to side with scientists on this one. It was most likely built about 100BC by the Greek genius Archimedes who had built and invented many amazing things and was the "Da Vinci" or "Einstein" of his time and place. I believe the Romans took the device when they conquered the Greeks and killed Archimedes. On the way back to Rome the ship that carried the loot either sunk on its own, or was sunk by a ship waiting at Antikythera.

A.R.A.I. Mystery Talley

The purpose of this blog is to attempt to sort out some of the mysteries we hear about concerning the possibility of aliens visiting our planet. Some of the things we hear about are true mysteries, while some have been explained but are still called mysteries for some reason. If we are going to find answers we should concentrate on the real mysteries.

Puma Punku and Tiwanaku

Puma Punku is a amazing and mysterious place for many reasons, and yet it is still very unknown compared to other mysterious places like Easter Island or the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Puma Punku is part of a ancient city called Tiwanaku in what is now Bolivia, South America, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. It is not known exactly when Puma Punku was built, some suggest 200 bc, but some claim it is actually thousands of years older, possibly the oldest city on Earth.

Puma Punku seems to have been built for religious reasons though the people left no written record so we cannot be sure. What we can be sure of, is that the people that built Puma Punku had amazing abilities to build things out of huge stones.

Some of the stones in Puma Punku weigh over 100 tons, and they had to be transported over ten miles. Puma Punku is so high in the mountains that trees do not grow and the air is thin. How they moved these giant stones without trees to roll them on or make ropes from is still unknown. Some scientists suggest ropes made of llama skins were used. I wonder if they could have brought the trees from the quarry?

What makes these stones so interesting is just how finely they were worked. Some stones show fine grooves that are accurate to within millimeters. Some stones fit together like puzzle pieces that lock together and stack up to build a wall, the stones are so accurately carved that the pieces can be interchanged for each other. Some scientists say this may be evidence the stones were mass produced.

Another interesting thing to take note of is that many of the stones are made of granite and diorite, these are extremely hard stones and the only stones hard enough to carve them are diamonds. I have heard it explained that you do not necessarily need a harder stone, a softer stone will just take a lot longer. I have also heard of a possibility that the stones were actually softened somehow using chemicals from plants that allowed them to be worked like modern cement and poured into molds.

Softening the stones to make them pour like cement would certainty make it easier to make the fine grooves and notches that are present. Softening the stone would also make it much easier to fit all the blocks together tightly, and to even possibly mass produce giant blocks of stone.

Many of the stone blocks though, are very irregularly shaped suggesting the stones were carved instead of softened. Also, the stoned are different types of rock and even if the people of Puma Punku knew how to soften stone it would be very likely to work only on one type of stone.

Evidence, including ground penetrating radar, suggests that Puma Punku and all of Tiwanaku were built to be quite a spectacle with finely carved stones, complex irrigation systems, temples, meeting places, large developments for housing, and more.

Then as the new Inca began to grow in power they conquered the people of Tiwanaku and all the knowledge of how they had built it was lost.

One more strange fact about the stones at Puma Punku is that, at some point, all the stones seem to be "ripped up" and scattered across the land as if thrown about by some terrible force likely much more powerful than what the Inca were capable.

What happened to these stones?

Easter Island

Easter Island, less commonly known as Rapa Nui, is a very mysterious island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. Easter Island is well known for its large strange statues called Moai. With over 1000 miles to the nearest inhabited island, Easter Island is said to be the most remote inhabited place in the world .

It is called Easter Island because a Dutch explorer found the island on Easter Sunday in 1722. Easter Island is about 15 miles long and gets to about 7 miles wide. It is usually between 64 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit on Easter Island, it does not get Hurricanes. The date the first people colonized Easter Island is heavily debated, anywhere from 300 to 1200 depending on who you ask. Evidence suggests that when Polynesian people arrived to settle it, it was either already occupied, or they were later joined by a group of tall white people with "earlobes they can tie behind their neck". Despite being reported by several visiting vessels the white people seem to disappear and their story on the island is not really told.

It seems when Easter Island was first colonized it was divided between 9 "clans" each with its own leader and these 9 clans were ruled by one "great leader" who was a direct descendant of the original founder Hotu Matu'a. These people practiced a type of ancestor worship, and it is these people that made the Maoi statues.

The early settlers of Easter Island believed in a link between the living and the dead, the dead provide everything the living needed, the living provide a better place in the spirit world through worship. The Moai statues are symbolic of their dead ancestors watching over them.

Most of the Moai statues on Easter Island are composed of three pieces, the main body, the eyes, and the Pukao or hat/head dress. Almost all of the statues were carved out of a volcanic ash stone called "tuff" using only a hand chisel made of a much harder basalt stone. The Pukao or hat thing they put on top of the statues was carved out of red Scoria, another type of volcanic rock similar but heavier and harder than Pumice. The eyes were made of Choral and black Obsidian.

Only about half of all the statues made ever left the quarry where they were carved. About 200 were placed where it seems they were meant to be, along the coast and on pedestals. About 200 more Maoi statues were scattered across the island, seemingly without cause. Scientists think the statues that are scattered may have been on their way to the coast and never got there. Around 400 Moai statues are still at the quarry, some half finished, some look like they were never intended to leave the quarry.

It is not known how the Maoi statues were transported around the island, but most scientists agree that they would have needed to use the trees that were at one time very abundant on the island for ropes, and rolling logs etc..

If it is true that the possibly 200 scattered Maoi statues around Easter Island are on their way to be placed, that implies to me a very slow process of placing the statues. Why would there be that many statues "moving", unless they would move each statue only a small distance at a time in some type of orderly way? It is hard to believe that there is no evidence about how they were moved when 200 of them are in the middle of being moved.

Then one day all statue carving just stopped. It is not known exactly what took place but it seems the whole island just fell apart.

With a population reaching about 15,000 people the island was overcrowded, people started to war, and a birdman religion overtook the ancestor worship religion. It is suggested that the warring started because the people of Easter Island ran out of food, brought on by a severe depletion of all the trees on the island. It is not known exactly what happened to the trees. Some scientists believe that they used up the trees moving the giant Moai statues, not realizing until too late the damage they were doing to their own environment. Some scientists believe the Polynesian people brought rats with them when they settled on Easter Island, they think that the colony of rats grew very large, and they ate the seeds of the trees.

Either way, without trees the people could no longer build boats to fish with, the soil eroded, and a huge problem was presented to the people of Easter Island. As the people began to starve they began to fight, this is when the birdman religion took hold. It was a competition held by the people in which, a dangerous race for the first egg of the season won the right to special foods for your clan.

It seems that even with the birdman religion fighting did not stop, and the people of the island also took to statue toppling with deliberate attempt to break the necks of the Maoi statues.

This fighting and starving seems to have drastically reduced the population of Easter Island by the time explorers started to frequent the island more often. Explorers noted the lack of trees and that as time went on, more and more statues were toppled.

Slave traders arrived and took half of what was left of the population of Easter Island as well as gave the remainder smallpox. Later explorers noted that when they arrived on the island there were too many bodies to bury and they were just lying about.

In the end the population was reduced to under 200 people, and because of this much of the knowledge about what really went on there is lost forever. It does not appear to me to be related to aliens or gods though, just an amazing story.

Vimani

This article is about Vimani, as mentioned in the ancient religion and beliefs of the people of India. Vimani are mentioned extensively in the epic poems, such as the Raymayana, that makeup the Indian religion . Where the pilots of the Vimani extraterrestrials?

Vimani are some type of vessel the gods of the Indian people would use to travel around our skies. Vimani were not limited to our skies though, even far away stars are short work for Vimani according to the epic poems. It is said that Vimani can travel to and from a distant star in a matter of days, even hours. Vimani are described to come in many styles, from a personal single man vessel, to an entire floating city. Many of the Vimani are explained to have amazing high powered weapons equipped. Many of the weapons described are extraordinarily similar to the devastating weapons of modern man.

The Vimani needed these powerful weapons, not to fight with man, but to fight with each other. It seems the Vimani pilots, some of whom had ten heads and ten arms, were not all on the same team. The epic poems that make up Indian religion suggest that the ancient Indian people found themselves in the middle of a war, and they witnessed and describe huge battles in the sky.

Another part of the Vimani story is not related to the Indian religion or its epic poems, it is the story of a book called Vaimanika Shastra. The Vaimanika Shastra is a book filled with very detailed descriptions of a large number of Vimani. The Vaimanika Shastra even gives details about how the engines worked, how to make Vimani hover, and become invisible. The Vaimanika Shastra also contains many illustrations of the Vimani it is describing. Are these images of ufos? Does this prove ufos are real?

Unlike the epic poems of India, the Vaimanika Shastra was written relatively recently in the early 1900s. The Vaimanika Shastra was written by a man who claimed to use " mental channeling" to get the detailed descriptions of the Vimani.

Upon close examination it was found that the author of the Vaimanika Shastra had very little grasp aeronautics and none of the Vimani in the Vaimanika Shastra have any possibility of actually being Vimani, or even ever leaving the ground.

The Vaimanika Shastra is a proven fake, or should I say, just a work of fiction, yet you will see images from it all over the internet and in video talking about Vimani. It bothers me when these images or text are used to promote the theory that they are real, and makes it seem like I am being sold.

The Vimani of ancient India are very interesting, but if those epic poems tell of ancient aliens coming to our planet from far away, why did they use our planet to fight with each other and use such powerful weapons? Could it be that after fighting wars in the sky with city size Vimani, and weapons comparable to the atomic bomb, that not one piece of any Vimani fell to the ground and has been preserved? It seems to me there should be plenty of ancient rubble, even after all this time. Surely, the people of India themselves would have preserved some of the rubble after their gods had left to serve as reminders of their time with them. Maybe we just have yet to find the evidence under the sand.

Piri Reis Map

The Piri Reis Map is another topic of mystery from the tv show Ancient Aliens. The show presents the map as being created possibly millions of years ago, at a time when Antarctica was not only undiscovered, but ice free as well. The tv show suggests that perhaps aliens created it, but for what purpose?

The map is said to show a very accurate representation of all the land masses including Antarctica, but when accurately lined up with a modern map the truth is shown. The Piri Reis map is a pretty good drawing of the western coast of Europe, North Africa, the coast of Brazil, Azores islands, and the Canary islands. The mythical island Antillia is also represented on the Piri Reis map.

The part of the map that represents North America is not very accurate, and the part that is supposed to be Antarctica looks to be more probably south America drawn sideways (like when you are writing a big word and you run out of paper so you start to bend the word to fit it).

Piri Reis was a Turkish military sailor and a map maker, he was not an explorer. On the side of the Piri Reis map can clearly be seen the notes Piri Reis wrote about the construction of the map. Piri Reis writes that the map is a composite of 20 other maps, including maps made by Christopher Columbus. The Piri Reis map was made by Piri Reis in 1513.

It has been suggested that Piri Reis might have had access to the Library of Alexander, and thereby was able to obtain maps of alien origin. The map as we know it is only part of the map, it was originally a world map that has been torn off. The map is only one map that is from a body of work Piri Reis created that contained many maps, as well navigation tips and information about the different people that lived in the different areas. Piri Reis also created a second world map a few years after the first.

Though the idea that Piri Reis got ancient maps from the Library of Alexander is a good one, there are just too many glaring errors in the map to be likely to have been created with an alien influence. The land mass of North America is very large and should be better depicted if drawn by aliens. If the land mass at the bottom of the map is indeed Antarctica why is it connected to south America if this map was drawn by aliens? Why was the mythical island of Antillia represented on the map it was created by aliens, when the island does not exist? Piri Reis own homeland is not very accurately represented on the map.

To be sure, there are some very interesting things about this map. The area of south America is surprisingly accurate and detailed for its time. It uses maps that could quite possibly be "lost maps of Columbus". It is the only map of the sixteenth century to have south America in the right spot in relation to Africa.

All in all, Piri Reis is pretty clear in his notes that he put right on the map, how he made the map.

As an extra note, it seems most of the Antarctica coast is rock, meaning the coastline would look mostly the same if the ice melted.

Nibiru - Will the World End

One of the first civilized places on earth was a place called Mesopotamia. Located in modern day Iraq, the Mesopotamian people are responsible for LOTS of discoveries and inventions. The Mesopotamian people are even said to have invented writing.

The Mesopotamian gods were called Annunaki, The Annunaki were many, and they came from a place called Nibiru. What is a Nibiru? Some experts agree that it is a very large, possibly red, planet that is a part of our solar system. Planet Nibiru is reported to have a very long elliptical orbit around sun, in fact, it takes Nibiru more than 3000 years to make one trip around the sun. The orbit planet Nibiru takes around the sun is reported to bring it dangerously close to earth, even possibly on a collision course.

When Nibiru is close to Earth, the Annunaki come to Earth from Nibiru and leave again when Nibiru leaves.

In modern day, many experts agree that such an event would have catastrophic effects upon the earth and the life that lives on it. If any planet was to come as close to the earth as the path of Nibiru would bring it, it would cause terrible earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions on Earth and Nibiru, it would affect our weather patterns, maybe change our magnetic poles, even possibly colliding with the earth, or moon. What's worse? It is said to be arriving just as the Mayan Calendar runs out December 21, 2012.

First, as I explain on my page about the Mayan Calendar, The Mayan Calendar does not run out, nor is it based on, or have anything to do with the galaxy or outer-space. The Mayan people did not know the Mesopotamians, or of the Annunaki, or of Nibiru, and they left no for-tellings of a coming planet. The Mesopotamian people and their stories of Annunaki and Nibiru were long gone by the time of the Mayan Calendar and the Mayan are from the other side of the world.

Why is it tied to the Mayan 2012 prophecy? Because previous predictions about planet Nibiru arrival date were wrong., it is as simple as that.

Will it ever arrive, and if so, will it carry Annunaki? I don't think so. I will explain.

First my thoughts on the Annunaki living on Nibiru: If the Annunaki lived on Nibiru I feel it would have been very difficult, if not impossible to evolve into living beings. A planet with the orbit of Nibiru would be subject to thousands of years of extreme deep freeze as it moves so far from the sun. Modern scientists today would not consider a planet with this orbit to be a candidate to support life.

For the past several years many experts agree that Nibiru is on its way, you can see it, and that our government is keeping us from this knowledge for fear of widespread panick.

The truth is that it is not on its way and you cannot see it. The government would not be able to cover it up. Scientists can see Pluto, and Pluto is smaller than our moon and extremely far away. Amateur astronomers are in every town, I know one myself, and they can see amazing things, how could the government keep them all quiet? If someone found Nibiru they would be famous!

Scientificly speaking, it is not even likely a planet with such an orbit would even stay connected to our solar system. The planet would likely either take on a more circular orbit or fly out into space in search of a new home.

so, how will the world end? probably not by Nibiru.

The Nazca Lines and UFOS

I was watching the tv show "Ancient Aliens" and thought it would be interesting to see if what they were presenting has any validity as well as get some thoughts from readers and maybe get a good discussion going. The show "Ancient Aliens" begins by presenting the Nazca Lines.

"Ancient Aliens" says the Nazca lines were made in ancient times for beings that could see them from the sky. "Ancient Aliens" says the Nazca lines are what remains of a massive ancient runway system used as a landing base for ufos and that the top of the mountain has been "flattened" or "shaved off" for this purpose. "Ancient Aliens" does state that there are opposing views and that the lines may have been made for religious reasons.

The Nazca Lines are certainly mysterious, though the first thing that gets my attention is the "ancient" title. Wikipedia and other sources agree that the Nazca Lines are about 1500 years old, and while that is pretty old, it is not really "ancient" so it is unclear why they began here. That the mountain is so flat I feel is strange and wins some points for the idea that ufos may have landed here as well as the fact that it really does look like a lot of airplane runways. Would aliens or gods have or need airplanes? Most of the alien ufos are usually said to not need such a device as a landing strip. Would the act of landing ufos leave marks on the ground that would also be preserved?

For me, it seems that there are just too many strips to really be runways, and some of them are wider at one end than at the other. I also see in some images of the animal shapes that they sometimes were drawn over the "runway" and they were not disturbed by landings. "Ancient Aliens" does present the idea that the local peaople drew the images to "call back" the departed ones.

In my opinion, the most logical explanation would be that the people that lived in this area drew the images and the strips to try to contact their God. Perhaps the Nazca people felt forgotten in the dry desert and thought that if their God did pass by he would see the symbols and remember them. Many cultures have worshiped things in the sky and might construct something to be seen from the sky. Some of the designes are quite complex and one might think they would be to hard to create from the ground without seeing them, but they remind me of the modern crop circle formations that were proven as hoaxes and built by common people on the ground in some cases in one night and not by ufos. I also think removing the small reddish stones to reveal the lighter ground underneath in Nazca is an easier method than perfectly bending the grasses and stalks of crop circles and many crop circle formations are much more detailed than any of the Nazca lines.

So, to sum it up, I think the Nazca lines are very interesting and raise a lot of questions. Why is the mountain shaved off? What do the images mean? Is there a message in the images? Is there other Nazca art or literature that might explain these images or describe the landings of the ufos? What happened to the Nazca people? Where did the Nazca people live while they made these lines and where are the houses? If this was a huge landing place for ufos is there not one piece of garbage, not one broken wheel left behind to find? If these lines are preserved surely everything must be.

Mayan Tomb of Palenque

The Mayan tomb of Palenque is another topic brought up by the Ancient Aliens tv show. They describe how the Mayan people had a great leader named "Pacal the Great", and while Pacal the Great did not tell us when the world ends, they suggest Pacal had access to alien technology, and may have even been an alien himself. The show does present some pretty strong evidence to back up its claim.

Pacal the Great was an abnormally tall man "seven or eight feet tall", and it is during his reign that most of the amazing temples in Palenque were constructed. It was a time of growth and achievement for the Mayan city. After his death he was buried in a tomb "built for a very large man" and the Mayan people then built the entire "Temple of Inscriptions" around his sarcophagus. The sarcophagus lid of Pacal the Great is the strongest piece of evidence put forward by the tv show. If you look at the carvings on the lid of the Pacal the Great sarcophagus you will no doubt understand what the tv show is talking about. Pacal the Great surely looks like he is sitting in some strange device, his nose up to something, his hands manipulating controls, his feet working pedals, and the whole thing looks like it is blasting off with fire coming from the bottom. Could Pascal the Great have had a rocket ship, or even have been an alien himself?

There are a few details that were left out of the tv show.

Pacal the Greats mom was the ruler of Palenque before him, but the Mayan people had rules against female leaders, so Pascal the Great became ruler the day he became a man, at age 12. Pacal the Great ruled for 70 years before he died, making him about 82 years old. His son became ruler after he died and completed the temple as well as continued on with new projects. When archaeologists finally found the entry to the sarcophagus in the Temple of Inscriptions, Pacal the Greats bones were still inside, covered with an armor of Jade, and surrounded with more Jade, the bones of five "companions to the next world" were also present.

Modern scientists say the inscription on Pacal the Greats sarcophagus is a depiction of him between the underworld and the heavens, the flames and "machine" he is sitting in is actually the open jaws of a jaguar, ruler of the underworld.

The Temple of Inscriptions is called that because of the high volume of writing within it. Much has been learned about the Mayan way of life from the depictions in the temple. The Temple of Inscriptions also goes into great detail about the life and achievements of Pacal the Great, unfortunately to date, none of the writings appear to depict visitations from other worlds or traveling on rockets. I would think these things would be truly great achievements for Pacal the Great, and would get some depictions on the wall.

Modern scientists that have examined the bones of Pacal the Great have said that the teeth of Pacal the Great appear to be from a 40 year old man. Scientist try to explain this by claiming that as a leader Pacal the Great might have been given a special "soft food" diet that would have preserved his teeth. I do not think this is a good explanation, because to the Mayan people strength was very important, and soft food would be for the weak. Some have argued that these are not the bones of Pacal the Great. I did not find out how tall the scientists say the bones would be.

You have no doubt seen the end of the world 2012 predictions everywhere. It all seems to be based around something called The Mayan Calendar, but what is it?

The Mayan calendar certainly needs no introduction, it is easily one of the most popular predictions for 2012. The story goes that we found an ancient Mayan calendar that is about to run out, and when it does our time on this planet is up. There are many theories, a giant planet will smash into us, we line up with the center of the galaxy and the Earth is ripped to shreds, massive solar flares causing destruction to our electronics, and many, many more ways the world will be reborn.

The Mayan calendar is a refined version of a calendar that was common to the area at the time. The Mayan calendar is actually many calendars working together, all based on the number 20.

One calendar in the Mayan calendar is called, the Haab, it was one year long. It was based on 18 months of 20 days for a total of 360 days and they would add 5 blank days at the end to match approximate the solar year. Also, it was 18 months instead 20 months because 18 months is closer to the solar year. The Mayan people would probably use the Haab calendar to know when to plant, when to expect certain weather, and so on.

Another calendar in the Mayan calendar is called, the Tzolkin, it had 20 periods of 13 days for a total of 260 days. It is unclear exactly what the Tzolkin was used for, but there are some interesting ideas such as:

May be related to Venus which has a 263 day orbit.

May be related to Mayan math. The numbers 13 and 20 were special numbers to the Mayan people and if you multiply them together they equal 260.

May be related to human pregnancy.

May be related to the time from plant to harvest.

May be related to anything really, we just don't know.

The next calendar in the Mayan calendar was called the Calendar Role, it was made by combining the Haab and the Tzolkin. This calendar would make each day unique for 52 years. This calendar was probably used by the Mayan people to keep track of peoples ages and other spans of time such how many years you went to school and so on. The truth is, most of the Mayan people did not live to be 52 years old, so this calandar was probably all that was needed by most.

So, for example, if you were born on the first day of the Calendar Roll your birthday would be "1 Haab 1 Tzolkin", the next day would be "2 Haab 2 Tzolkin",

the next day would be "3 Haab 3 Tzolkin" and so on,

if the day was "260 Haab 260 Tzolkin" the next day would be "261 Haab 1 Tzolkin" (because Tzolkin only has 260 days), and the day after "360 Haab 100 Tzolkin" would be "1 Haab 101 Tzolkin" (because Haab only has 360 days). It is unclear, to me, how they handled the 5 days extra.

So, the time it takes to get from "1 Haab 1 Tzolkin" to "1 Haab 1 Tzolkin" using this Calendar Roll system takes 52 years.

The last calendar in the Mayan calendar is the one everyone is talking about, The Long Count calendar. These other calendars were fine if the events took place in a single lifetime, but what if you wanted to keep track of your ancestors, or keep track of important historical dates like the completion of a monument or temple, or if you wanted to make your prediction for when will the world end? The Mayan people surely asked themselves this same question and the answer they give is the Long Count calendar.

This is what the Long Count calendar looks like "0.0.0.0.0".

This is how the Long Count calendar works:

The last zero is the day and it is called a "Kin". "0.0.0.0.5" = 5 Kin, or the sixth day because 0 is the first day.

20 Kin equals 1 Winal (month)
"0.0.0.3.10" is how you would write the eleventh day of the fourth Winal (month). This number only goes to 18 just like the Haab Calendar.

18 Winal = 1 Tun (year)
"0.0.15.0.1" is how you would write the second day of the first month of the sixteenth Tun (year).

20 Tun = 1 Katun
"0.3.0.0.5" is how you would write the sixth day of the first month of the first year in the fourth Katun.

20 Katun = 1 Baktun
"2.2.2.2.2", I think you can take a guess what day this is.

The simplest way I can think to explain it is that it is just like a car odometer except the numbers on a car odometer only goes to 10 where as the numbers in the Long Count calendar go to 20.

That is all there is to the Mayan Calendar. Do you want to know what day it will be the day before December 21, 2012? "13.9.9.9.9". That's right, on December 21, 2012 the Mayan calendar will read "14.0.0.0.0". Get it? Me either.

To start off there is a big problem with this prediction for 2012. The Mayans are all gone. Who kept counting all the days? NOBODY. How do we know what day it is? WE DON'T. The date we have today is a date that has been agreed upon by a group of scientists. Some smart people got together and said the calendar starts on the day August 11, 3114 BCE, but that is a best guess and might very well be wrong. I would like you to notice that, had they lined up the calendar with the stars, we might know what day it really is right now. The Mayan people knew and studied the stars, but they did not base the Mayan calendar on it, only the yearly count used the solar year (and not accurately).

The Mayan people used the numbers 13 and 20, so why would "14.0.0.0.0" be a bad number? It probably is not a bad number.

The Mayan Calendar will not reach "19.19.19.17.19" for another 2367 modern Earth years, and that is the real last day of the Mayan calendar.

So what is all the fuss about really? Most likely, the first person that studied it didn't realize the calendar goes to 14. There are many interesting things about the Mayan people that can be used to weave great tales to answer "how will the world end". But, they really never said "2012 end of world", modern man did.

There are plenty of real mysteries out there that are much more deserving of our attention than this.

The Great Pyramid of Giza

Man has long been puzzled about Egyptian pyramids, and surely no blog about aliens and gods could be complete without a discussion of The Great Pyramid of Giza. Supposedly built for Pharaoh Khufu in 2560bc, the Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the original Seven Wonders of the World, and it is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World left standing today.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the longest lasting mysteries in all the world, for nearly 5000 years travelers have been stopped in their tracks to look upon the Great Pyramid in amazement and wonder. Standing 480 feet tall it was the tallest man made building in the world for almost 4000 years. The base of the Great Pyramid covers an area greater than 6 New York City blocks. At one time the Great Pyramid of Giza was covered in highly polished white limestone that could be seen for miles, even at night as it reflected the moonlight.

The Great Pyramid, said to have been completed in just 20 years, is also said to contain over 2 million stone blocks weighing up to 80 tonnes, some transported over 500 miles. Each stone has been cut so precisely that a sheet of paper could not fit between the massive stones, sometimes you cannot even see the seam.

The list of amazing things about the Great Pyramid of Giza does not end there but continues on and on, some of the things on the list are just plain strange.

There are many theories about how the Great Pyramid was built. At one time it was thought that slaves built the Great Pyramid, but excavations in the 1990s revealed a "city" where the workers lived, it revealed that the Great Pyramid was built by many skilled workers that wanted to build it and took pride in their work. The discovery did not reveal how the Great Pyramid was built, but it did also reveal "boat pits" hidden by the Great Pyramid which contained completely dismantled wooden boats hidden inside. One boat was rebuilt and it was 143 ft. long, the other boat pit was left unopened to save for another day when we might be able to better understand it.

It is thought that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Khufu, but there are some things that are strange about that. For example, there is hardly a mark on the Great Pyramid, no hieroglyphics or any Egyptian symbols on the walls, no ornamentation, no statues, no sign there ever was any. This seems very strange and out of character for the Egyptian people of that time. The tallest structure on Earth, and the final resting place of the Pharoah and not a mark. The sarcophagus that is in the kings is too large to fit through the narrow passageway that leads to it, so it must've been placed there when the room was built. This makes me wonder how they got the embalmed body of the Pharoah not only in but out as well, since Pharoah Khufu body was not found, actually there is no sign at all that there ever was a body.

For some time it has been speculated by some that the Great Pyramid of Giza and Pharoah Khufu are not related, but a discovery in a part of the pyramid not meant to be seen, showed Egyptian symbols in the form of workers marks indicating Pharoah Khufu on the unfinished stone, proving that the Great Pyramid was built during his time. Since then however, evidence may exist that suggests it could be a forgery by a rival archaeologist.

Another interesting thing about the inside of the Great Pyramid is that behind a strange doorway that can only be seen with the help of robot cameras is are strange copper handles that to anyone who knows electronics looks very much like a modern electrical connector. Recently scientists have sent a robot to check the metal handles and have said they are ornamental in nature. it's strange to me that these copper handles no one can view, are the only ornamental items in the entire Great Pyramid. Adding to the strangeness is the fact that when first entered the the walls of the Great Pyramid were completely covered in salt. Scientists have said the salt is a natural occurrence of limestone blocks, but salt can also be an electrical component. Could the Great Pyramid have been some type of electrical device as some have suggested?

There are even more interesting things about the Great Pyramid, such as:

The Great Pyramid of Giza is said to be in the center of all the land mass on Earth. Found by finding the longitude line that crosses the most land, and the latitude line that crosses the most land, these two lines cross each other at the Great Pyramid. I would like to point out that every time an earthquake occurs anywhere on Earth land moves, the Earth has a lot of earthquakes. I wonder how long the Great Pyramid will be in the center and for how long it could have been?

The Great Pyramid of Giza is perfectly lined up with the points of the compass.

The Great Pyramid and its 2 companion ancient pyramids are said to line up with the Orion constellation.

There may be evidence that Pharaoh Khufu only repaired the Great Pyramid and not built it. If this evidence is true Pharaoh Khufu is said to have also built the 3 small pyramids near the 3 large ones.

There is an ancient Egyptian text called the "The Westcar Papyrus" that tells a story of how Pharaoh Khufu enlisted the help of a strange magician named Dedi. Dedi was called a "simple citizen" except for that he was 110 years old, ate 500 loaves of bread, a "shoulder of beef", and washed them down with 100 jars of beer every day, could tell the future, and had amazing magical powers like being able to mend a severed head. Other than that though, just a common man.

Maybe someday the simple explanations of how the pyramids were built, and why the pyramids were built will be presented to us and we will all laugh at how dumb we are, but for now...

Ezekiels Wheels

I was watching the tv show "Ancient Aliens" and thought it would be interesting to see if what they were presenting has any validity as well as get some thoughts from readers and maybe get a good discussion going. One topic the show "Ancient Aliens" brings up is the Biblical prophet Ezekiel.

Ezekiel was a very interesting and controversial Biblical personality. It is said he foretold the destruction of Jerusalem, was able to raise the dead, and possibly saw a UFO.

Like Enoch before him, Ezekiel also possibly got to see the big man himself. Like Enoch before him the BOSS is surrounded by fire, lightning, shiny things, and maybe ufos.

Ezekiel sees a great cloud and a fire coming from the north. He sees four living creatures with the likeness of man coming out of the midst of the fire. Each living creature has four faces and wings. From here the story gets really confusing but it seems the creatures move about synchronously in all directions with the aid of, or along with, some strange wheel within a wheel type of object. Above the living creatures and the wheels was some type of firmament the color of some type of crystal. The creature and the firmament seem to be connected and they make a thunderous noise with their wings when they move but get quiet when stopped and the wings fall limp.

Above the firmament was the likeness of a sapphire throne and upon that was what looked like a man made of fire. This, man of fire, tells Ezekiel that he must take some bad news to Israel because they have transgressed. The man of fire then sent a hand with a roll of a book in it, and told him to eat it. The man of fire opened the book before Ezekiel and written therein was lamentations, and mourning, and woe. Then again the man of fire told Ezekiel to eat the scroll. After Ezekiel eats, the man of fire takes Ezekiel "up" and to another place where they remain for seven days.

Later in the story of Ezekiel, King Nebuchadnezzar (who drinks from a skull of a murdered Jew) has 3 young men killed for causing the Babylonian women to act strange. Just as the three young men are about to be thrown into a furnace Ezekiel brings them back to life, terrifying the king.

The story of Ezekiel in the Bible is much more detailed than I have been and there is much more to the story. There are many questions I have about Ezekiel including:

Could this be an eyewitness account of an alien spaceship? Is this another tale of ufos in our past? I read a great website about this, and on that website he breaks it down verse by verse and explanes how it is a description of an alien ufo. You can read it here - Read it!

If this was a meeting with the BOSS, why all the fanfare? Abraham, Moses, and others spoke with the BOSS several times without the BOSS needing neither a vessel nor a throne, why this time?

If this was a meeting with aliens and ufos from another planet, why do they have such an interest in Israel?

Why does the visitor force Ezekiel to eat the scroll?

Could this scroll have been "drugged" to cause Ezekiel to have special powers that can raise the dead?

Why does Ezekiel give every tiny detail about a meeting that lasts only a few minutes, then say not a word about the seven days he spent with the visitor?

There are more questions than this, but this is a good start. I would love to know what you think about this.

Enoch and the Angels from the Bible

I was watching the tv show "Ancient Aliens" and thought it would be interesting to see if what they were presenting has any validity as well as get some thoughts from readers and maybe get a good discussion going. One topic the show "Ancient Aliens" brings up is the Biblical character Enoch.

Enoch is a character from the Bible. Where in the bible can he be found? Only in one part of the modern version of the bible "Genesis 5:22-29", and it is unlikely that you heard much about him in your bible studies. But, in the "other bible", the bible Jesus would read bible passages to the apostles from, there was another "book" that is no longer included. The book of the bible that is missing now is called, The Book of the Watchers, or the Book of Enoch, and it tells a very unsettling tale about the man, Enoch.

Enoch was Noah's great grandfather and he had a pretty crazy story to tell. First it says 200 "Watchers" led by a guy named S�m�az�z seem to have been hanging out for some reason. These angels from the bible began to fancy the human ladies and decided to gather on a mountain top and make a pact to take themselves human wives and have children with them.

The children turned out to be giants "whose height was three thousand ells". The giants ate everything the humans had, and when the humans had nothing left the giants started to eat the humans. The giants also "sinned" against everything in the air, on the land, and in the water.

Then it seems some other angels from the bible named Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel caught the 200 bad angels of the bible and went and told on them. The Boss tells the good angels to bind up the "Watchers", cast them in the desert, and cover them with darkness until the end times. The good angels from the bible also go tell Noah to get ready for a long voyage on a boat.

Enoch seems to have been well known by both the good and bad angels possibly even in an employment position. He was convinced by the fallen angels to take a plea for forgiveness to the BOSS Himself. Of course, the BOSS would not accept it and the punishment upon the angels was carried out but Enoch did get to see, describe, and speak to the BOSS according to the book of the Watchers. Enoch describes the BOSS as being in some type of place built of flames and fire. Inside the flames and fire was a high throne made of what seemed to be crystal and it had wheels that shone like the sun, and there were cherubim there as well. Fire streamed forth from the throne preventing Enoch from looking at it.

In the book of the Watchers Enoch learns and tells how evil spirits came to be and why they attack humans. Then the good angels from the bible take Enoch on an amazing journey "round the earth" where he sees "the places of the luminaries and of the thunder", a river of fire, all the rivers of the Earth and "the place where no flesh walks". "I saw the treasuries of all the winds: I saw how He had furnished with them the whole creation and the firm foundations of the earth". HE SAW HOW THE BOSS MADE THE EARTH! Enoch also got to see many more things including where souls go after we die to wait for judgement. Enoch wrote it all down and gave it to Noah. Then, since they liked him so much, the angels took him from the earth. Enoch walked with God and was never seen again.

This is a really great story and I highly recommend searching "the book of the Watchers" and reading it and going over it in you bible studies as I only scratch the surface. I think the many references to this book in later stories makes it very interesting. The well known angels, giants, strange trip around the world, strange "doings" of the angels, that "revelations" may be copied from the book of Enoch, and the mystery behind why it was removed from the Bible all makes this book something I think should be looked at a little more to finally find the truth of the bible.
